Area gets ready for children to go back to school

School registration is under way this week. Here is the schedule for Wednesday.

Coos Bay

Classes for Coos Bay Public Schools will begin Tuesday, Sept. 2.

Grades K-4

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday at Bunker Hill, Blossom Gulch and Madison elementaries.       

Grades 5-6

From 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Millicoma Intermediate School

Grades 7-8

From 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on  Wednesday at Sunset Middle School.  

Destinations Academy & Resource Link Charter School

Returning students register from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

North Bend

North Bend kindergartners through ninth-grade students will start school Wednesday, Sept. 3. North Bend High School students will walk into class Thursday, Sept. 4.

High school registration dates and times for students new to the district are by appointment only from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Foreign Exchange students will register from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday.

Powers

Powers’ schools registration for children entering kindergarten will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday.

All students in grades kindergarten through fifth who were in attendance on the last day of school in June 2008, will register on the first day of school. New students will register from 1 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

Bandon

Bandon High School registration is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday.

Ocean Crest Elementary students who were enrolled last year do not need to pre-register.

New students and kindergarten students who haven’t registered can do so from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. this week.
